Dear Constituent,
In another busy week I was delighted to see more than £1m of investment confirmed in grassroots sport facilities for our communities. Building on the progress discussed last week in securing a review of the North Herts Local Plan, I’ve been closely monitoring plans for major development in Harpenden and in the villages.
On the blog this week, I discuss the Government’s big funding announcement for our local Councils - and what it means for our local services.
At the weekend I was in Paris to discuss Franco-British relations. And in Westminster I’ve been looking at all things financial services and capital markets. Financial services are a major local employer and - amongst lots of other meetings this week - on Tuesday I joined the Chancellor to meet with banking leaders to discuss the sector’s competitiveness.
Yours,
Bim
