Hitchin’s Member of Parliament Bim Afolami MP visited the Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival at Hitchin Rugby Club on Saturday (17th June) to show his support and meet lots of local people enjoying the event.
The Beer and Cider Festival is put on by the North Herts Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA North Herts) and brought together hundreds of local residents from Hitchin and beyond to try more than 200 beers, ciders, perries and meads, across three sessions from Thursday to Saturday. Proceeds from the event are shared between the Rugby Club and CAMRA North Herts.
Bim Afolami MP said,
“The Hitchin Beer and Cider Festival is a fantastic annual event, bringing local people together and raising money for two great non-profits in our community. I had a great time at the Festival on Saturday – and I enjoyed trying some of the products that were on offer!
“CAMRA do some great work championing local pubs and breweries – both of which form key parts of our communities in Hitchin and the villages. This Festival is always a good opportunity for me to speak to some of their local supporters and find out all about the work they are doing in our area.
“The Festival will be back in Hitchin next year and I look forward to seeing lots more local people there then!”
