Hitchin’s Member of Parliament Bim Afolami MP visited Hitchin start-up Simmer to talk to them about local business support on Friday 13th January. Simmer are a food delivery service based in Bury Mead Road in Hitchin who provide fresh, balanced meals – ready to eat in three minutes – straight to customers’ door every week.
Bim Afolami MP said,
“Local businesses are so important to our communities and to growing our economy in Hitchin, Harpenden and the villages. It was great to visit family-run business Simmer in Hitchin to meet their team and hear their story. They are exactly the kind of brilliant local start-up that we need to foster and encourage in our community – run by fantastic young local entrepreneurs.
“As your local Member of Parliament, I will continue to work to support fantastic local businesses like Simmer, who represent the best of what our community can achieve and bring new jobs, growth and investment to Hitchin. I enjoyed talking to them about the challenges and opportunities that they have locally and I look forward to seeing what they do next – as well as enjoying the great meal that they very generously gave me to take home!”
