Inflation is the big economic challenge of our time. It drives up the bills of households. It suffocates investment and growth. It has led to the increased burden of debt interest payments for government, drawing funding away from public services. And if allowed to fester, it can cause prolonged hardship for families and businesses.
This week I spoke in Parliament during the debate on the Autumn Statement to outline the vital need to take action to tackle the cost of energy in order to beat inflation. As your local Member of Parliament, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Renewable and Sustainable Energy and a member of the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Select Committee, I will continue to do what I can to champion the development of cheap, homegrown energy to protect local families and businesses.
