Small businesses are the lifeblood of our local economy - like so many communities across the United Kingdom. One of my focusses on the BEIS Select Committee is to ensure that small businesses get the right support from Government to enable them to survive and thrive in the years ahead. On Monday I met with the owners of a number of small businesses at an industry reception hosted by Goldman Sachs to hear about some of the challenges that they face and what they would like to see from Government.
