The Government has announced its new Plan for Patients, which aims to prioritise ambulances, backlogs, care and doctors and dentists. The Government plans to improve patients’ access to GP practices, recruit additional support staff, give pharmacies powers to prescribe more medicines and introduce cloud-based telephone systems to GP practices.
As your local Member of Parliament, ensuring that we have good local access to healthcare - both in Hitchin and Harpenden and in our rural communities - is one of my top priorities and I will closely scrutinise the Government's plans to make sure they deliver for local people.
