In Hitchin & Harpenden we are fortunate to have significant amounts of high-grade agricultural land, which is a vital part of local and national food production. This week I have written to the Secretary of State following local concerns about the erosion of this land to non-agricultural developments to find out what steps the Government is taking to protect this land over the longer term.
