I appeared on a panel for the Institute for Government to discuss how the services sector can play its part in driving economic growth and levelling up across the United Kingdom. As Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Financial Markets and Services and the MP for a constituency with a significant number of residents working in the services sector, this is an area of focus for me.
I will continue working with industry and Ministerial colleagues to champion the services sector, including through my Commission looking at how financial services can play its part in levelling up and spreading opportunity.
