As Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Renewable and Sustainable Energy, I know how important it is that we continue to develop a home grown, clean and self-sufficient energy system. As a local Member of Parliament I also know that it is important that local communities have a say on renewables projects in their area, so this week I have written to the Secretary of State asking him to set out what plans his Department has to engage with local communities on the building of renewable energy projects.
