On Wednesday it was a real pleasure to speak at Visa's Let's Celebrate Towns event in Parliament and back Hitchin's bid to win the competition. Unfortunately we weren't successful on the night, but we can all be proud of our town for getting onto the final shortlist and I will continue to work with local people to make Hitchin an even better place to live, work and spend time.
