It is vitally important that our regulators are accountable to Parliament and Government - particularly with regards to their interpretation of the intentions of Government policy. I recently set up the Regulatory Reform Group looking at reforms to the UK's regulatory system and this week I spoke in the Chamber about the need for accountable regulators.
