St. Albans Council’s Lib Dem administration continues to let local residents down. Following the latest delays to their Local Plan, this week the Council’s poorly-performing planning department - one of the five worst in the country with more than 30% of applications failing to meet their target time for a decision - has been served a designation notice by the Government. This means that - because of the Council’s poor performance - non-major applications (including developments of up to 9 houses) can now bypass the Council and elected Councillors and go straight to the Planning Inspectorate. I’ll keep pushing the Council to get back on track.
