I welcome yesterday’s announcement from the Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, outlining further support and a pledge from the government to repatriate UK nationals stuck abroad.
Last week I lobbied the FCO to do more and sooner as constituents continued to get in touch across the world seeking support to be repatriated. The Government’s announcement means:
– Partnership between Government and airlines to fly home stranded British travellers.
-Government chartered flights from priority countries to UK over the weekend and more to take place this week.
– Up to £75 million Government funding pledged to bring UK travellers back home
Since this announcement I have written to the Foreign Secretary requesting that Australia, Ecuador, India, Peru and New Zealand be included on the list of priorities to support the constituents who have contacted me. Please see my letter below.
If you are constituent and currently stuck abroad, please do get in contact.
