Hitchin & Harpenden’s Member of Parliament Bim Afolami MP joined fellow Parliamentarians from the Conservative Environment Network caucus for a meeting in 10 Downing Street with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on Tuesday (24th January). The MP, who chairs the influential All-Party Parliamentary Group for Renewable and Sustainable Energy, is one of the Conservative Party’s leading voices on the route to clean energy and net zero.
Bim Afolami MP said,
“Protecting and enhancing our local environment, delivering green growth, and helping people with their bills through cheaper green energy and energy efficiency are all vitally important. I am working hard in Westminster to champion these causes and I have been delighted by the support I have received from residents on a number of individual campaigns to improve our environment – including my plan to extend the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty across North Hertfordshire.
“This meeting was an excellent opportunity to speak directly with the Prime Minister about the priorities of local people in Hitchin, Harpenden and the villages for our local environment. I will continue to work with him and with Ministerial colleagues to deliver on our agenda.”
