The heatwave of Monday and Tuesday highlighted that many British homes and offices are not designed for higher temperatures. With climate change not going away, I wrote to the Secretary of State for Levelling Up this week to press him to ensure that future-proofing new buildings to better stay cool is considered as part of planning legislation and that consideration is given to measures to cool down existing buildings.
