With global inflationary pressures on fuel prices driving cost of living pressures across the country, I know that constituents are very concerned about their bills. This week I have written to the Chancellor of the Exchequer to ask that the Treasury make an assessment of potential cost of living rises in Hitchin & Harpenden. I also asked him to set out the current and planned action taken to support local families with the cost of living.
I will use his reply to tailor my work in Westminster to ensure that the impact of the cost of living is mitigated as far as possible for local residents.
