As constituents may know, I am currently campaigning to extend the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) across a broad area of North Hertfordshire in our constituency. This week I heard about the role that National Parks and AONBs like the Chilterns can play in nature recovery and in the UK's ambitions to protect 30% of land for nature by 2030.
This heightened ability to protect and enhance our local environment is one of the major reasons why I want to see this classification extended right across our part of the Chilterns landscape, so that local communities and our environment can unlock its benefits.
