Local Member of Parliament Bim Afolami MP visited the North Hertfordshire Minority Ethnic Forum in Hitchin on Thursday (20th July).
The North Hertfordshire Minority Ethnic Forum are a local organisation who provide support for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities in North Hertfordshire. This includes advice on a whole range of matters – from housing, to employment, to education.
Mr Afolami’s visit came after the Minority Ethnic Forum received nearly £10k from the National Lottery Community Fund earlier this year to provide weekly sessions for newly vulnerable migrant communities to help them to acclimatise to their new surroundings and build strong community relationships.
Bim Afolami MP said,
“The North Hertfordshire Minority Ethnic Forum do some absolutely fantastic work supporting people in our communities. It was a real pleasure to visit and meet with some of their organisers to congratulate them on their recent funding award and find out more about how that is helping their work.”
