I have been made aware this week of reports of ambulance waiting times in Hertfordshire being at an unacceptable level. Our Ambulance Services do a fantastic job supporting residents in Hitchin & Harpenden when they face serious and potentially life-threatening emergencies and they have my gratitude for the fantastic work that they do. While in the majority of cases response times are within reasonable bounds, it is vitally important for local people that they can be confident that when they need an ambulance it will arrive within a reasonable timeframe to assist them. I have written to the Secretary of State for Health & Social Care to ask him to look into these concerns.
